Beast is a new boyband from South Korea under CUBE Entertainment. The group consists of 6 members. Originally the group were known as B2ST (Boys to Search for Top). However, their name was changed to BEAST (Boys of EAst Standing Tall),a couple of days before they debuted. Beast members consists of : Yoon Du Jun, Jang Hyun Seung, Yong Jun Hyung, Yang Yo Seob, Lee Gi Kwang, Son Dong Woon. On October 14, 2009, they released their first mini-album BEAST Is the B2ST on the same day they also held a showcase performance on MTV. To date, the mini-album has shipped over 10,000 copies. Before debuting the group was featured in a MTV documentary titled MTVnB2ST, which showcased their journey leading up to their debut. Beast is the best Rookie Korean Band of the year 2010. As a new band, the group popularity has increased a lot, surpassed another Boyband such as MBLAQ. Big Bang (Korean: 빅뱅; commonly stylized as BIGBANG) is a popular South Korean boy group formed by CEO Yang Hyun Seok of YG Entertainment in 2006, one of the largest entertainment companies in Asia. Big Bang is considered to be one of the most successful South Korean music groups both within and outside Asia. The group consists of leader G-Dragon, T.O.P, Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri. Big Bang is one of Asia's most successful acts and has been labelled as the "Revolutionary Group of Hallyu Wave" and "South Korea's Most Wanted" for their unique urban-originated music and flamboyant fashion style compared to other boy bands and girl groups. They have been also coined as Hallyu wave's leading boy group due to their immense popularity, remarkable success, and influence worldwide. Since their debut, Big Bang had already released several successful singles, extended plays, and studio albums. Although their first full-length album, BigBang Vol. 1, did not fully captivate the general audience due to their attempt of the hip hop and R&B genres, they later found success with their first extended play, Always, released in 2007, nearly a year after their debut. The extended play spawned their first no. 1 hit Lies, which stayed on the top spot on various music charts for seven consecutive weeks. Block B (Hangul: 블락비) is a South Korean boy group created by Cho PD under his label Brand New Stardom. On April 15, 2011, they made their debut on KBS Music Bank with their promotional single, "Freeze!" ("그대로 멈춰라!"). The group consists of seven members: Zico (Woo Jiho), Lee Taeil, B-Bomb (Lee Minhyuk), Ahn Jaehyo, U-Kwon (Kim Yukwon), Park Kyung, and P.O (Pyo Jihoon). The members of Block B have dancing, rapping, composing, and singing experience. Their debut single, titled "Do You Wanna B?" consists of three tracks. Block B is short for the term Blockbuster, with the group having high hopes of making it big in the music industry. The group has its roots in hip hop, but have interest in branching out into different genres. |
Infinite (Korean: 인피니트, Japanese: インフィニット; stylized as INFINITE) is a seven member South Korean pop boy group under Woollim Entertainment, which is also home to other talents such as Epik High and Nell. The group consists of 7 members: Sunggyu, Dongwoo, Woohyun, Hoya, Sungyeol, L, and Sungjong. The group is known for their highly synchronized dancing as well as the 'Scorpion Dance' in their "Before The Dawn" MV. SS501 debuted in 8 June 2005 with their first single “경고” (“Warning”), with a second single “Snow Prince” released in late 2005. The group was inactive in Korea for most of 2006, although they had a fan meeting in Japan in April.[citation needed] The hiatus was due to Heo Young Saeng’s throat condition which required surgery, thus resulting in a need for time to fully recover.[citation needed]. In mid-2006, they held their first concert, “Step Up Concert” in Osaka, Japan. In late 2006, they returned to Korea in order to promote their first full album, which was released on November 10. Singles from the album included “Unlock” and “Four Chance”. As well as promoting the album on various variety and music shows, they also filmed a show on MNet called SOS. On their 600th day (January 28, 2007), they won the Mutizen award from SBS Inki Gayo for their song “Four Chance”. Entering Japan Later in 2007, the group debuted in the Japanese market. A Japanese fanclub has been established with the name of “Triple S Japan”; it officially debuted on March 25, 2007, when SS501 had their first official meeting with the group. In Korea, their fan club members number around 41,700[citation needed]. The group had a Japanese single “Kokoro”, which had multiple versions, including one with all members and five others featuring the members individually. The single debuted at #5 on the Oricon chart,and jumped to #3 the next day. A full album was released later in the year. Comeback to Korea In 2008, SS501 returned to Korea with their single Deja Vu released on March 8, 2008. The title track was the first song to be promoted, and they started their comeback on music channel M.Net’s M Countdown.[1] After success with their single “Deja Vu”, they began to promote their second single, “A Song Calling For You”. They performed their Goodbye Stage on Music Bank on June 6th, 2008, to return to Japanese activities. |
Shinhwa debuted on March 24, 1998 with a concert performance on Korean music show, KM Music Tank, of their first single, entitled "Hae Gyul Sah" ("Problem Solver"). Initially, SM Entertainment auditioned and formed the group, but in July 2003 Shinhwa did not renew their contract. In the midst of rumours of breaking up, Shinhwa decided to sign with a different label, Good Entertainment. On December 10, 2004, Shinhwa was awarded the Daesang for Best Artist of The Year for the first time at the Seoul Gayo Daesang Awards. Several weeks later, on December 29, Shinhwa was awarded their second Daesang at the 2004 SBS Gayo Daejun Awards. Currently Shinhwa is on HIATUS due to their two members, Eric and Dongwan, and more later, going on the military. Their latest Album to date is the 9TH GIB, with it's popular track, RUN & JUST ONE MORE TIME. The last single Shinhwa released is DESTINY OF LOVE, on they dedicated to the fans. F.T. Island (Korean: 에프티 아일랜드 Japanese: エフティー・アイランド; stylized as FTISLAND), short for Five Treasured Island, is a five-member South Korean band. The members are Choi Jong Hun (guitar and keyboard), Lee Hongki (lead vocals) Lee Jae Jin (bass and vocals), Song Seung Hyun (guitar and vocals), and Choi Min Hwan (drums). Their debut album, titled "Cheerful Sensibility", was the sixth best-selling album in 2007. Their debut song "Lovesick" topped the K-Pop charts for eight consecutive weeks.[2] Oh Won Bin was a member of the band up until the beginning of 2009. |

B1A4 (Korean: 비원에이포) is a five member South Korean boy band founded by WM Entertainment in 2011. The band consists of Jinyoung (leader), Baro, Gongchan, Sandeul, and CNU (Shin Woo). They have gained much interest due to being first introduced in a webtoon and for their unique sound mixing pop with rock for their debut album. Their group name, B1A4, has been explained as being due to one member having B blood type, and the other four having A blood type. It also stands for "Be The One, All For One" .2011: Debut 'O.K'B1A4 debuted on April 21, 2011 with their debut track 'O.K' off of their album 'Let's Fly' and released a music video. They were first introduced to the world through the creative marketing of webtoons before their actual pictures were released. Their debut album 'Let's Fly' includes a song written and composed by the leader Jinyoung. As rookies, this garners much interest being that most debut albums contain little input from the members. |
Led Apple (Korean: 레드애플), commonly stylized as LEDApple or Ledapple, is five-member South Korean rock band formed by Startory Entertainment in 2010. The band currently consists of Youngjun, Hanbyul, Hyoseok, Kwangyeon and Kyumin. The part "Led" in Led Apple stood for "Logic Egoism Delete" and was promoted during their debut but they stopped referring to it since their CODA mini-album was released. Instead they replaced it with a practical explanation of "shining as brightly as LED whenever they perform" which was eventually referred to as a tribute to their role-model, Led Zeppelin. The group was formed by Cube Entertainment. In April 2012 released a debut album, Born to Beat, with songs co-written by Jörgen Elofsson.BtoB was chosen as the new group in order to show their competitiveness and their survival strategies for being known as 'performance-dols' within the competition of the music world for cable Mnet's reality program 'Amazon (Idol Master ZONE) for their first broadcast to be on the 4 April 2012 which marks BtoB first reality program. It was stated from the start that Seo Eunkwang, Lee Minhyuk, Lim Hyunsik, Jung Ilhoon and Lee Minwoo (이민우) were on the list of original members who are waiting to be debuted under the name of "BtoB". However, Lee Minwoo had dropped out of the list of confirmed members after their first appearance on the sitcom and the fact of him not debuting with BtoB had upset many fans. On March 23, 2012, Cube Entertainment had clarified that there are problems with Minwoo's health resulting in him being unable to blend into the group. Adding on, he will still be a trainee under Cube. If his health is to recover, he might still get a chance to debut. Minwoo was confirmed to debut as a C-Clown (Crown Clown)member under Yedang Entertainment. |
U-KISS is a seven-member South Korean boy band formed by NH Media in 2008. The members include Shin Soohyun, Elison Kim also known as Eli, Kevin Woo, Shin Dong Ho, Lee Kiseop, Hoon and AJ (both joined the group in 2011). U-KISS stands for Ubiquitous Korean International (Idol) Super Star. They debuted in Japan on August 15, 2008 and in South Korea on August 28, 2008. Later in late 2009, six-member U-KISS was turned into seven-member U-KISS with the addition of Lee Kiseop. When the original members Alexander Lee Eusebio and Kim Kibum's contracts were terminated in early 2011, they were replaced by Hoon and AJ. Xenos-5 (엑스파이브, often referred to as X-5 or X-Five is a South Korean boy band with five members, formed under Open World Entertainment in 2011. 'XENOS', is an allomorph for the Greek word of 'stranger', where the name 'X-5' (referring to 5 Xenos), originated from. After being officially announced by Open World Entertainment that they were debuting another boy band early 2011, X-5 debuted on April 20, 2011 with their song 'The Show is Over' at their debut showcase. On April 22, 2011, they officially debuted through KBS2's Music Bank with 'The Show is Over' ('쇼하지마'), also known as 'Don't Put On An Act', after releasing the respective music video. |
