GROUP GIRL'S KOREA

Wonder Girls (원더걸스) are made up of five girls Min Sun Ye (leader), Park Ye Eun, Kim Yoo Bin, Sun Mi and Ahn So Hee debuting in 2007. Ex-member Kim HyunA left in 2007 due to health problems, but she will always remain a Wonder Girl.

Sun Mi left the Wonder Girls at end-February 2010 to further her studies and Hye Rim was recruited to fill her spot. Sun Mi is still technically a Wonder Girl and will be welcomed back into the group if she so desires in future.

Official balloon color is Pearl Burgundy and fanclub name is Wonderful.

T-ara (Korean: 티아라; pronounced /t:ara/)) is a Korean girl group from Seoul, South Korea formed by Mnet Media in 2009, the same company of groups SeeYa, and Davichi, Lee Hyori, and SG Wannabe. A five member group, two members left before the group's debut, being replaced by three others. Before their debut, there was a high level of interest in the group as they were called "Super Rookies".[1] T-ar

History
The original five T-ara members were trained for three years, and released their first song "A Good Person" for the Korean drama Cinderella Man OST. In early 2009, Jiyeon was in a collaboration with SeeYa and Davichi for a song called "Woman's Generation", which topped charts[citation needed].
In June 2009, Core Contents Media announced that Ji-ae and Ji-weon left due to differences in music style. Boram, Soyeon, and Q-ri were added. The group's agency began to released promotional pictures in July 2009, all different. Afterward, T-ara released their debut single "거짓말" ("Lies").

They are currently under B2M Entertainment. Jiwon is a former member of Five Girls and T-ara and is also an actress and model. Narae was one of the Top 10 contestants in the first season of Superstar K. Joohyun was featured in Heo Young Saeng's solo single, "Let It Go". Kim Boa was Infinite's vocal trainer. Bohyung is a former YG trainee. Their first single, "Potently", features labelmate, Lee Hyori.

Secret is rookie girl group from TS Entertainment, consist of 4 girls, they are Jeon HyoSeong, Song JiEun, Zinger (Jung Nara) dan Han SeoHwa. They debuted on september 21. Jeon HyoSeong is the first member that's published, and known that in the past she is in same band with YooBin (WG) and UUE (after school). But it was about in 2005.

Next person is, Song JiEun. She is published by a video when she was playing piano, she performs Karina "slow motion"

Rania is a Korean pop 7-member girl group, Semi, Riko, Jooyi, Di, Joy, T-ae and Xia. They debuted in 2011 under DR Music (trained by their president, Yoon Deung Ryong) and producer Teddy Riley (who have produced hits for pop stars like Michael Jackson and Black Street) had produced the tracks for RaNia for their debut. The group consists of members from Thailand, China, and Korea who are all fluent in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. Among them, Joy is from Thailand and dreams of becoming ‘the second Nichkhun.’ Riko is Korean but grew up and was educated in Japan.
RaNia will be promoting their strong dance and powerful vocals not only in Korea but also in Asia and United States later this year.

Rainbow is an all girl group from South Korea, composed of seven members, created by DSP Entertainment. They were announced on January 15. But before their debut three members left but were quickly replaced. They were revealed on November 3, and released their teaser for "Gossip Girl" on November 6. On November 11, 2009 they released their full video of the song, and instantly became a hit! Rainbow made their debut performance on November 14, at Music Core.

Orange Caramel (Korean: 등자초당) is a South Korean girl group under the label of Pledis Entertainment. On June 6, 2010, Pledis announced Nana as the first member of one of the 2 sub-units. On June 7, 2010, Pledis announced Raina as the second member of the same sub-unit. On June 8, 2010, Pledis announced Lizzy as the final member of this sub-unit. Miss A – often stylised as miss A – is a Chinese-Korean girl group formed by JYP Entertainment. The group made their official debut in early July 2010.

The four members of miss A are Fei and Jia from China, and Suzy and Min from South Korea. Check out miss A members profile.

The group, initially with five members, was unofficially known as (JYP) Sisters. The group has appeared on random shows in China before being reshuffled and made their official debut in July 2010 with Korean album Bad But Good. Its main track Bad Girl, Good Girl became an immediate hit, reaching #1 spot on various charts.

Miss A released their second single Step Up in September.

Kara started as a four-member group and debuted with their first album The First Blooming in 2007. In 2008, Kim Sunghee departed the group due to parental pressure, and two members were brought in; as such, the group consists of five members: Park Gyuri, Han Seung-yeon, Goo Hara, Nicole and Kang Jiyoung. The five-member band achieved their first number one song with “Honey”. Other singles include
“Pretty Girl”, “Wanna”, “Mister”, and “Lupin.”

The group has released two full-length albums — The First Blooming and Revolution — along with various EPs. Kara has won various awards, including the Best Dance Award at the M.net Asian Music Awards and Best Female Singer at the 16th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards. Hello Venus (Hangul: 헬로비너스) is a South Korean girl group formed by Pledis Entertainment and Fantiago in 2012. They are the second girl group to debut under Pledis Entertainment (the other being After School). The group consists of Yoo Ara, Nara, Alice, Lime, Yoonjo, and Yooyoung. They are After School and NU'EST's sister group, and debuted on May 9, 2012.

Girl’s Day is a South Korean pop group which debuted in 2010.

Girl’s Day made their official debut in July 2010 with Tilt My Head which didn’t go well. The group switched two of their members two months later, and the new team released single Nothing Lasts Forever in October which did better.

f(x) (Korean: 에프엑스; pronounced /ˌɛf ˈɛks/) is a five member South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2009. The name is a play on the mathematical notation for function, and when input with different ‘x’, there can be many different outcomes. f(x) strives to be the kind of girl group that can change and adapt to many situations. The group members have also been nicknamed “function girls”. The group made their debut on September 1, 2009 with release of a digital single “La Cha Ta” (stylized as “LA chA TA”). The quintet consists of Victoria, Amber, Luna, Sulli and Krystal.

Dal Shabet (Hangul: 달샤벳), stylized as Dal★Shabet, is a South Korean girl group created by E-Tribe through their label Happy Face Entertainment. The members include Serri, Ah Young, Jiyul, Woohee, GaEun and Subin (Maknae). On March 15, 2011, 'Darling' was selected as Dal Shabet's fanclub name. The group won the 'Best Newcomer Artist' award at the 26th Golden Disk Awards on January 11, 2012. On May
23, 2012, it was announced that Viki would be leaving the group, being replaced by new member Woohee.

Pre Debut
During the latter half of 2010, rumors began to circulate through Korean media sites that E-Tribe, the producers behind breakthrough hits such as Girls' Generation's "Gee" and Lee Hyori's "U-Go-Girl", were planning to launch a new girl group. The producers quickly denied the rumors and said they were untrue. On December 9, 2010, E-Tribe's small-label company called "Happy Face Entertainment" announced that they would be launching a six-member girl group named Dal Shabet.[1] Profiles of the group members were revealed on December 29, 2010, as well as their January 3, 2011 debut date.
2011: Debut, Pink Rocket & Bling Bling
On January 3, 2011, Dal Shabet released their debut music video, "Supa Dupa Diva", making them the first idol group to debut in 2011. Promotions for "Supa Dupa Diva" began on January 6, 2011, on M! Countdown. The song proved to be quite successful as it topped many real time and music station charts for the majority of its promotional period. Promotions for "Supa Dupa Diva" ended on March 14, 2011, but it was revealed that the group would be holding their first comeback in April. "Supa Dupa Diva" was later voted upon by various celebrities in a survey and was crowned as the second most addicting song of 2011, as well as having the second most popular choreography.
On April 5, 2011, concept photos for Dal Shabet's first comeback track "Pink Rocket" were revealed. The concept, dubbed 'rocket girls', showed a more elegant and feminine side to the group. On April 13, 2011, the full-length music video to "Pink Rocket" was released. Promotions for "Pink Rocket" began the following day on M! Countdown. Promotions for "Pink Rocket" ended on May 30, 2011, but the group assured fans that they would be releasing another album in early August.
On August 2, 2011, it was announced that Dal Shabet would be making a 'funky' comeback. During the entire first week of August, concept photos for each member were released. The outfits in the concept photos were quickly met with controversy and were deemed 'too sexual' for live television, causing a complete overhaul of the concept. On August 10, 2011, Dal Shabet unleashed their music video to "Bling Bling". Promotions for "Bling Bling" began on August 12, 2011, on Music Bank. The song proved to be their most successful yet, as it managed to break the Gaon Chart's 'Top Ten'. Promotions for "Bling Bling" officially ended on November 6, 2011, but fans were assured the group would quickly return to the stage.

Chocolat (Hangul: 쇼콜라), commonly stylized as ChoColat, is a South Korean girl group created by Paramount Music in 2011. Their group name means "Chocolate" in french. Their name was chosen because the different characters of the members would remind people of different types of chocolate, however due to there already being a group with the name Chocolate, to set themselves apart from them, their group name was chosen by its french translation. [1] The group consists of five members, three are mixed race Korean, (Juliane, Tia, Melanie), and the other two are Korean (Min Soa, Jae Yoon). Tia, Melanie, and Julianne's fathers are all U.S Army soldiers.
Announced as the first mixed race girl group in South Korea, the group debuted with their 1st digital single "Syndrome (신드롬)" on August 17th 2011 and on live music programs M! Countdown on August 18, 2011.
It was revealed the group would be holding their first comeback with a mini-album in December. Promotions for "I Like It" began on the 3rd of December, 2011 at the K-pop Con. The music video and mini-album were planned to be released on December 15th. On December 6th, as a response to fans' questions, Paramount Music revealed that the final date for the mini-album release was delayed to December 15th, 2011.[2] Also, to clear up any misunderstandings, it was revealed that due to severe health issues, member Jae Yoon couldn't participate in the album, and that promotions would go on with 4 members for this album. The Brown Eyed Girls (or B.E.G.) (브라운 아이드 걸스) is a South Korean girl group managed by NegaNetwork (내가네트워크). The group consists of four members: JeA, Narsha, Ga-In and Miryo. Since debuting in 2006, the group has risen to popularity through a number of hit singles, beginning with 2008’s L.O.V.E, but it wasn’t until their 2009 breakout single, “Abracadabra” that their name was established in the Korean music scene

A Pink (Korean: 에이핑크) is a seven-member South Korean girl group under A Cube Entertainment formed in 2011.[1] The group consists of Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eunji, Son Naeun, Hong Yookyung, Kim Namjoo and Oh Hayoung.

The group has released two Korean EPs and one studio album. They debuted on April 21, 2011, with "Mollayo" (몰라요; "I Don't Know") from their debut EP Seven Springs of A Pink on Mnet's M! Countdown. The group has also won numerous rookies awards at shows such as the 26th Golden Disk Awards, 21th Seoul Music Awards, and 13th Mnet Asian Music Awards. Their first music program win was on M! Countdown on January 5, 2012, for "My My" from their second EP Snow Pink.

After School (애프터스쿨) is a popular female pop group from South Korea, with hit songs like Diva, Because of You, and Bang etc.
The current nine members of After School are Kahi, Jung Ah, Jooyeon, Bekah, Uee, Raina, Nana, Lizzy and Leeyoung. Check out After School members profile.
After School made their debut as a five member group in January 2009 with single AH! which did just ok. A new member Uee was introduced in March and the new team released digital single Diva with moderate success. They released a few more songs before member So-young graduated from the group in October.
Two new members Raina and Nana were introduced a month later and the group released Because of You which became their first major hit and chart topper.
After School enrolled another new member Lizzy in March 2010 and released a single Bang days later. The three new members formed a sub-unit, Orange Caramel and made their debut with Magic Girl in June.
After School released Happy Pledis, a Xmas themed charity album in December, and also introduced their ninth member, Lee-young, later that month.

2ne1 is a new South Korean female girl group created by YG entertainment. Originally called “21,” the band has since made some new changes to their name. The 21 in the group’s name references the 21st century, while the “ne” of their name stands for New Evolution. The name change was due to a male Korean singer already using the name 21. This band was created by YG to be a female counterpart to their highly successful male pop group, Big Bang.

2ne1 is composed of four different members, Sandara Park, Park Bom (Jenny Park), Kong Min Ji, and Chae Lee (CL or Faith Lee). Unlike most girl bands, 2ne1 has a large variation in age with Sandara Park and Park Bom both being 24 and 25 years old respectively, while Kong Min Ji and Chae Lee are both teenagers at 15 and 19 respectively.

2ne1 released a digital single entitled “Lollipop” with Big Bang on March 26th, 2009. The single was meant to be a promotion for the new Lollipop mobile phones released by LG Cyon. The music video was released on April 3rd, 2009.

Just like Generation Girls, 2NE1, T-ara and other Korean girl band, Nine Muses, as also known as 9Muses or The Model-Dols, also join the international music scene.

Nine Muses have 8 members, consisting of Hyuna, Lessem, Sera, Euaerin, Eunji, Kyungri, Hyemi and minha. This Girl band has released their first debut in August 2010 with a single titled "No Playboy", this song is produced by composer Rainstone, and Park Jin Young.

9Muses very popular in two countries, Korea and Japan. In fact they have two official websites for their fans in both countries, namely www.9muses.co.kr and www.9muses.jp. Also this girl band has also signed contracts with two labels, namely Star Empire Entertainment in Korea and IMX Inc. / Happinet Music in Japan.
